I’m Alexander, and together with a small team I run buildfor.life, an R&D lab in Chiang Mai building open-source, long-lifetime electronics: repairable, documented, and measured honestly. This forum is our community home.

Where things go
- Announcements: product news and blog posts. Staff start the topics; everyone joins the discussion.
- Products & Support: help with our hardware. Ask anything, whether you are just starting out or have been soldering for decades.
- Open Hardware & Development: schematics, firmware, and contributions. Build with us, not just from us.
- Testing & Teardowns: how we measure lamps and charge controllers, teardowns and internal photos, and the comparison data.
- DIY Solar & Off-Grid: low-voltage DC, solar, batteries, and off-grid practicalities in the tropics.
- General: introductions and everything else.
We hand out badges for confirmed bug reports, builds you share, lamps you send in for measurement, and merged contributions. Everything we design is open source.
